Our company is dedicated to air and sea freight and tailor-made transport solutions. Geocargo continually improves its quality management system.

A brief history: Geocargo began operations in 1995, exclusively handling air cargo, and has been a member of CASS/IATA since then. We became a licensed freight forwarder in 1997. Also in 1997, we moved to Lisbon Airport to be closer to the cargo terminal and airport customs.

In 2000, we opened our maritime cargo department, successfully expanding into a new market. In 2001, we obtained IATA Cargo Agent certification. In 2003, we moved to premises outside the airport and near the Port of Lisbon. In 2004, we signed the IATA Intermediary Agreement under the European Air Cargo Program.

In 2006, Geocargo was elected Vice President of the Board of APAT, the Freight Forwarders Association of Portugal. That year also marked the launch of our website at https://www.geocargo.pt. In 2007, we obtained ISO 9001 certification and committed to continual improvement of our quality management system.

We subsequently moved to larger premises with an indoor warehouse as part of our growth strategy. We are an air freight regulated agent registered with the Portuguese aviation authority, and we manage a security programme.

In 2010, Geocargo started a project for air transportation of baggage and created the e-bagagem.com trademark, which went live at the end of 2011. In 2012–2013, we consolidated our position in freight forwarding and invested in operational IT to support e-freight. We signed the IATA Multilateral e-AWB Agreement in 2013.

In 2014, we became IPATA members as part of our strategy to develop live animal transportation in Portugal, and registered the Geopets trademark. Our company history also records the election of Geocargo to the presidency of APAT in 2015, represented by Paulo Paiva, and the launch of the Fly Geopets app for iOS and Android in 2021.
